Life Story
Talbot von Pister was born in Vienna in the year of 1906, after his birth and during his youth he lived four years in east Afrika, and he returned first in the year 1931 to Austria. He soon joined the Allgemeine-SS who soon become illegal in Austria and with the help of Hilfswerk Östereich he was transfered to the II./SS- Deutschland located at the SS-Standort "Dachau". He was to be attached to this unit until 1939, when the new SS-Div. Polizei was established. He was at first attached to the Staff of the SS-Div. but when the campaign against France started in 1940 he was attached to the SS- Aufklärungs Abteilung 4.

After the campaign against France von Pistor was once again transfered to the staff of the SS-Polizei Division, where he would remain until until his transfer to the SS-Truppenwirtschaftlager located in General Goverment (Poland) . Of unknown reasons and oblviously was von Pistor as a punishment transfered to the establishment of the SS-Div. "Skanderbeg" who was stablished in Prizren in Albania, Shortly after that he was once again transfred, this time to Oppeln a.d.N. where he was once again involved in a establishment of an SS-Div. This time it was the 1st Estnische SS-Div.

With 20.SS-Frw.Gren Div. Estniscche Nr 1. he served until the SS-FHA ordered once again a new SS-Div. of volonteers, this time it was the SS-Div. "Hundaij Nr" which consisted volonteers from Hungary. With this unit Talbot von Pister served until the end of the war.

Von Pistor was soon among the founding members of the HIAG (Waffen-SS veteran organisation)
wich he helped and attended many of the meetings with his old comrades in arm He was part of the HIAG Nordrhein-Westfalen

SS-Sturmbannführer Talbot von Pistor died in Leer in 1990.
