Linards Janums was the son to SS-Standartenführer Vilis Janums who died in Germany 1981, he is today buried in the center of Riga together with many of his fellow SS-Officers of the Lettische Nr 1 and 2. I have visited the cemetary and anyone who goes to Riga should visit that cemetary. Beside the Latvijan Cemetary is the "Wald Friedhof" who today has civilian Latvijans and Russians but during the war it was the cemetary where the Germans buried their dead. A lot of famous SS-Soldiers are buried beneth the civilians among them Hinrich Schuldt.

Linards Janums is listed as KIA at the end of the war, but acccording to DRK he was last seen in a camp as late as in August 1948. This info is probably given by a former POW who came back to Germany in the middle of the 50´s . Other sources give that he also got KIA on March 20, 1945 and they claim that he is buried in the above mentioned cemetery. "Waldfriedhof"
